Fuel Filler Cap Release - Fail

Wed Nov 22, 2017 1:11 pm

Hi, I've had my X5 drive for just over a year now and completed 20K miles, trouble free. Recently the fuel filler cap is failing to open - after pressing the 'pressure release' button in the vehicle, I get an error message on the dashboard and the filler cap fails to release. If I'm driving on electric only, it will open - but driving on auto drive or on petrol, the problem occurs, creating an issue when I need to refuel. The car is at the dealer now, but they say they are 'unable to complete the diagnostics to be able to resolve the issue' and suggest I collect the car and take it back if the problem persists. Has anyone else experienced this problem and, if so, what was the outcome / solution? Thanks S
